The Whitegate area offers several spectacular coastal sites which provide an opportunity for the careful insertion of specific tourist, housing and business activities. Each of these candidate sites offers a historic base from which tourist related housing or shared accommodation projects can develop.
These developments should be structured to retain the existing ruins at the heart of each complex. Accommodation would defer in density and character from those that exist in the Frigate Bay and South East Peninsula areas, providing in contrast a broader landscape setting that will take full advantage of the spectacular views and the more lush environment that exist at Whitegate.
Through partnership with Government and the private sector, already several key investment and community development projects have been instituted. These include the Saddlers Secondary School which is intended to evolve into a polytechnic institution; the Dieppe Bay Judical Complex and; the R.L Bradshaw Memorial Park. In addition, Beaumont Park Horse Race Track is at an operational stage while Kittitian Hill is under construction.
